History

Established in 1992, the Lycée Jules Verne is a French institution accredited by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). The Lycée Jules Verne upholds the values of the French educational system and the curriculum is in line with the French educational system. 

Resolutely open to the world, the Lycée Jules Verne seeks to prepare its students for the international challenges that await them.

Currently, the school caters to over 980 students representing 76 nationalities, spanning from the Pre-primary (Maternelle) to the Grade twelve (Terminale), across two campuses in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

JOHANNESBURG

Nestled in a secure access controlled area of Morningside, Sandton, within the vibrant city of Johannesburg, the Johannesburg campus is welcomes students from pre-primary to grade 12. Currently, it boasts an enrollment of 841 students.

The legacy of French education in Johannesburg, however, extends back to the 1960s, marking the inception of the first French school in the region. the institution initially occupied the Parktown district until 1976, subsequently establishing itself at Zoo Lake before finally settling in Morningside at its present and thriving location.

PRETORIA

Ideally located in the heart of the embassy district in Arcadia, the Pretoria campus of the Lycée Français Jules Verne educates students from Pre-primary (Petite Section) to grade 5 (CM2). It now accommodates 141 students.

Established in 2001 at Willows, this branch of Lycée français Jules Verne underwent a significant relocation in May 2013 to the strategic Arcadia district, in order to provide the best learning environment for students. This move resulted in the Pretoria campus now enjoying the benefits of beautifully renovated buildings and amenities.

The school features eight well-equipped classrooms, a computer room, a library, a sports field, a swimming pool, and an expansive shaded area. This modern infrastructure not only aligns with the academic excellence upheld by our education system but also provides students with a conducive learning environment

The students then continue their secondary education at the Johannesburg campus.
