School camps at Pretoria and Johannesburg Lycée Jules Verne
In primary school, with their class and teachers, students do a “class transplant course” for a period of three to five days:
– At the end of cycle 1: GS classes (Grade 0 classes)
– At the end of cycle 2: CE2 classes (Grade 3 classes)
– In the last year in primary school: CM2 classes (Grade 5 classes)
The length of the stay, destination and activities vary according to the age of the children and the teachers’ educational projects.
Beyond the specific educational objectives of each of these camps, students learn skills to further equip them to become citizens of the world such as communal living, learning independence and representing their school.
The teaching staff is in charge of finding appropriate venues and activities which are facilitated or supervised by students’ teachers.
Safety remains our top priority. As such, a medical assistant travels with each group as well as a life guard if swimming activities have been planned.
Students gladly discover the South African bushveld, the mountains, historical places and natural heritage sites, all while being educated in one of South Africa’s magnificent natural settings.
